About me

About Me

I hail from Minnesota, proudly representing the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. My upbringing in the Land of 10,000 Lakes instilled a healthy respect for subzero temps, snow blizzards, and hockey. Quick shoutouts to culinary favorites like hotdish and SPAM; the colossal Mall of America (MOA) as well as Target Field; and of course, our iconic figures, Prince and Bob Dylan!

I hold degrees from the University of Minnesota and Moorhead State University in speech-language pathology. My career kicked off in healthcare, assisting individuals in communicating post-stroke. I later made the move to public schools, working with Pre K-12 students. I've authored a book for school-based speech-language pathologists and provide professional development to other therapists on a national level.

More recently, I’m navigating the busy streets in New York City where I now live and work every day—a big change from the Midwest. And yeah, there are rats (!), but I’m totally embracing it. When I'm not working, you can catch me outdoors, weaving stories through adventures with my family and friends—from dog sledding along the Canadian border to canopy climbing in the Pacific Northwest and whitewater rafting through the Grand Canyon.

Next up? IDK. Maybe backpacking through Spain, kayaking some fjords in Scandinavia ...or I've always wanted to try a train ride across India too. I'd love to hear some of your ideas! Have you been to any of these places? Do you have recommendations for me? I appreciate you taking some time to get to know me. Please check out the rest of my pages when you have a moment!
